"I FLY MY BLACK ANGELS"
The work is a ceremony for those unsung heroes and sheroes committed to the cause of black liberation. The making of the Black Angels is an embodied act of recognition, acknowledgement and encouragement for those who have been lost in the struggle, continue to struggle and will struggle as long as there is a need.

DISTRICT OF BODIES
This excerpt embodies the childhood memories of a proud father who drilled the music of George Clinton, Louis Armstrong, and Funkadlic into the ears of his children daily. When his children were embarrassed by his love of George Clinton’s catchy hooks and legendary guitar solos, he would exclaim “YOU CANT RUN FROM THE FUNK, IT WAS IN YOU ALL ALONG!!” After growing older and seeing the world through his father’s eyes one child realized that “The Funk“ as it is was referred to was in fact in him all along.
