Ms. Mistah productions presents a  staged reading of
A new play about Homophobia, Friendships and Love in working class America
Written and directed by Mistah Coles.  Cast includes Dorrell Clark, Mistah Coles, Moira Cutler, Desi Martinez, Niko, Jo Robertson and Jessie Vega.  Introducing Shamika Brightman as the narrator and special appearance by Deacon Ernestine Smiley. This reading is being presented as a fundraiser for In the Life Ministries. 

Saturday, August 16 at 2pm / Free / Owen Dolan Park, Westchester Square Dancing in the Street presents DANCING THROUGH THE BRONX Dancing in the Streets launches DANCING THROUGH THE BRONX, a site-specific dance festival that introduces new audiences to contemporary dance while drawing attention to three verdant oases in the Bronx. Arthur Aviles Typical Theatre is remounting Ritual Dance, a work he created in 2000.  The piece consists of 15 dancers spread out through the Owen Dolan Park at the Westchester Square train station, performing simultaneous solos to the same beat, which they will create by hand claps and an occasional shout.  Also presenting work that afternoon are Larry Keigwi, using his "Let's Make a Dance," process which features 30 performers  - six Keigwin + Company members and 24 community members of all ages and abilities. And a work by James "Cricket" Colter, featuring five hip hop dancers who will adapt a broad vocabulary of hip hop styles to each park's terrain.
