To the BAAD!Community,

As news rapidly develops both locally and nationally surrounding Coronavirus/COVID-19,  BAAD!’s team is diligently monitoring its impact on our artist community. Since NY Statewide officials have banned public spaces from operating as normal, BAAD! will launch Virtually BAAD! and re-imagine its programming to have artists present their work on a virtual platform so audiences can experience it on their computers or phones. It’s more urgent than ever to stay connected to art and creativity.

We feel the impact that COVID-19 virus is having on our artist community and audience, therefore we’ve collected and are sharing the following links on resources and support for health, grants and against xenophobia:

The World Health Organization’s
website and the Center for Disease Control offer accurate and up-to-date information on how to prevent and care for yourself and those around you.

Also, as the
New York City Department of Healthis updated frequently and also includes local information related to COVID-19.

NYC continues to expand COVID-19 testing capacity.

You should seek testing for COVID-19 if you:

  • Have COVID-19 symptoms (cough, fever, shortness of breath, loss of appetite or smell), regardless of age, chronic conditions, or occupation
  • Come in close contact with a confirmed COVID-19 patient, regardless of symptoms
  • Work in a congregate residential setting (nursing home, shelter, or adult care facility), regardless of symptoms
